How to care for your watch daily?Updated 8 days ago

A SERICA watch is a precision mechanical instrument that requires maintenance adapted to its materials and use.

1. Cleaning the case and bracelet

Cleaning prevents the buildup of dust, salt, or residue that could alter the aesthetics or functioning of mobile components (bezel, links).

  • Routine care: Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and dust from the sapphire crystal and case.
  • Wet cleaning (Steel and Rubber): Use lukewarm soapy water (mild or pH-neutral soap) and a soft-bristled brush (like a toothbrush) to remove impurities from the Bonklip bracelet or links.
  • After sea immersion: Systematically rinse your watch thoroughly with fresh water. Salt is corrosive and can damage gaskets or seize the rotating bezel.
  • Leather straps: Leather is a natural material that must not be submerged. In case of contact with moisture, dab with a soft cloth and air dry away from heat sources or direct sunlight.

2. Water resistance and Precautions

  • Screwed-in crown: Before any contact with water, ensure the crown is perfectly screwed against the case. An open crown voids all water resistance.
  • Handling: Never manipulate the crown or bezel when the watch is submerged or wet.
  • Testing: Gaskets age naturally. We recommend a water resistance test every two years or before each season of intensive aquatic use.

3. Storage and Environment

  • Thermal shocks: Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperature variations (sauna, very hot shower, prolonged sun exposure on the dial).
  • Conservation: When not worn, keep your watch in a temperate, dry place away from humidity.
