How often and how should I have my mechanical watch serviced?Updated 8 days ago

A mechanical watch is a precision instrument that requires periodic maintenance to maintain its reliability and chronometric performance over the long term. This is why SERICA handles all servicing for its models within its Parisian workshop.

We recommend a service every 5 to 8 years, including:

  • A full disassembly of the movement, allowing for cleaning and inspection of all components.
  • Detection and replacement of worn parts (gears, pallet fork, mainspring).
  • Our watchmakers perform a precise adjustment of the movement to meet the rigorous chronometric standards of the COSC certification for M100 calibers, as well as the specificities of the second time zone for the GMT C125 caliber.
  • Replacement of all gaskets followed by a rigorous pressure test to ensure the integrity of your watch in aquatic environments.
